Biographical Information for Janet E. Jones
Chief Clerk of the Kansas House of Representatives
Janet E. Jones, Chief Clerk of the Kansas House of Representatives, is
a native of Courtland, KS. She is a graduate of Courtland High School and
Kansas State University (with majors in history and English). She also
has course work in Public Administration from Washburn University.
Janet was honored with the Legislative Staff Achievement Award, representing
the American Society of Legislative Clerks and Secretaries, at the National
Conference of State Legislatures meeting in Chicago in 2000. The Journal
of the American Society of Legislative Clerks and Secretaries published
an article, RFP--A Mission NOT Impossible, in the Summer 2000 Issue,
written by Janet on the Request For Proposal process.
She is married to Robert R. (Buck) Jones, and has two daughters and
two grandchildren.
